Reilly, my Irish Setter, the best dog I ever had, is out in the middle of Brice Creek. This part of Brice Creek was my backyard for awhile. It is in Disston, Oregon, a practically forgotten little town, but where Disston brand of chainsaws were made long ago. Disston, Brice Creek and Sharps Creek were all roughly 27 miles from Cottage Grove, Oregon. Gorgeous countryside. I was in scenic heaven.

As far as My Story and My Life As group pools go, I was a single mom, raising two children, and this little place I had on the creek seemed idyllic. This dog, Reilly, came with the place. (Not the first time in my life someone has left a pet when they moved out). Reilly adored me and my children from day one, I think. It was mutual. I wanted to do photography, particularly fall color photography, and Reilly was a great companion. If and when I ran across any sort of strange or suspicious characters, I was very glad to have my huge and imposing looking dog along. There were a few times when I really think his presence discouraged some people.

Reilly, was 110 or more pounds of strength, and affection. He could swim some very rough water. He hardly ever missed a fetch, in fact, I can't remember one, though there must have been.

I miss Reilly and I miss this place.

A short nap in a breezy afternoon.

This was shot during my Lotus temple visit. It was cool afternoon of summer. A girl and her father are taking a short nap in a breezy afternoon. They must be tired after roaming around the Lotus temple complex.
